You must be thinking about something different. Alan was referring to something like this.

    Hey guys,

Yes just to be clear I was meaning what Graeme just posted above.

$20k is definately way too much... I contacted Frank and he gave me a good quote for several books and sports, but this is just something I'm curious about because i like to plan things ahead.

Would certainly recommend contacting Frank for those of you interested.

Hey folks, I am Graems code monekey Frank so I thought I would pipe up here.

The biggest issue with the sportsbooks is that they are all different, many of them offer an ROT number which makes matching games up but a lot of the EU books don't so that can result is major headaches.

Someone mentioned scrapping the sportsbook sites instead of and XML feed, this is a bad idea because if a book changed its site design your odds would be rendered useless. The key is to make frequent calls to the XML and get the most updated odds.

Soccer is probably the worst sport to work with, the variety of leagues and the differences with the sportsbooks make it really tough to match everything up.

I have experience with NFL, NHL, NBA, MLB, NCAAB, NCAAF and some Soccer so if you are interested I can give you a quote on the work, just email or PM me with a list of the books you would be interested in and the sports you wanted to list.

    Cheers.

I think the price entirely depends on what you want the system to have in it. $20k probably isn't all that far off if you want a robust system built for the UK betting scene which includes markets such as Horse Racing and Football (Soccer). Sites like oddschecker.com and easyodds.com are constantly tweaking their scripts from what I have heard, due to the fact betting sites often slightly modify their XML feeds etc.

Odds scripts are worthless unless they are put in your own db so you can display price movers in some way. - opening price - movement - starting price.

Simple xml display is cheap - the real cost comes in doing something worthwhile.

Hmmm, thanks for making me think. It's easy to think you're doing what you should be doing, but new ideas are really where it's at, and your comment will have me thinking real hard until I come up with something cool.

Are you still looking to split the cost on this project or is everyone doing their own unique script? If we are splitting the cost please let me know. I will also PM Frost for a quote.
