Yes that's correct, it is currently set to one year. It may only last one year.. but no traditional bookmaker will allow you to earn commission when a player wins!

I don't agree with the policy at all, but at least they are open about it.

wth? one year? That changes everything. I don't remember a big warning sign telling me that!
Cheers mj, gonna promote bet365 instead more now.

Hi Daniela,
Welcome to the forums, and thanks for taking the time to run this thread.
Is this 1-year betting exchange revenue share policy negotiable? I'm a large volume affiliate and for this reason alone cannot promote you. Often our traffic includes regular bettors and high volume bettors, they're simply too valuable to lose after a year.
From discussions with affiliates, I know this is prevent others from promoting you too.
I've asked this privately and not received an answer.
Best,
JT
Doovde is spot on here. If you have a betting site is NOT worth promoting Betfair on it because of the 1. year rule. You´re only making a rather small amount (compared to the rev. share other bookmakers have) of the fees the sportsbetter gives to Betfair anyway.......and that small amount will be lost after 1. year!....Much better to go with guys like Bet365, Expekt, Bet24, Ladbrokes, Unibet etc. and secure a lifetime share from sportsbet!
Hi guys, I'm afraid that my main area of expertise is Poker and I wouldn't like to mislead you by not being 100% correct in what I say.. so I will ask the guys in the Sports Affiliate team to reply directly to the queries that have been brought up.
What I can say though is that the Betfair Sports affiliate programme is widely recognised as being one of the best within the industry.. we have won the award for the Best Sports Affiliate programme at the iGB awards last year, and the Best Sports Affiliate Manager award this year... but I will leave it to the Sports guys to clarify further.
In the meantime for any queries that are Sports-related, if you'd like to get in touch directly you can email: sportsaffiliates@betfair.com
Hi Guys,
Like Daniela said unfortunately we do only offer 1 year revenue share, this is unfortunately not negotiable currently. However we do offer extremely competitive hybrid commission plans plus a huge range of other services. For example: Daily sports content written by big names in sport like Andy Gray; XML and API feeds; a large range of football widgets and live odds creative; we also offer regular ticket giveaways and competitions to Ascot, Manchester United and Barcelona as part of our sponsorship deals.
So I hope you can see there are many positive reasons to promote the Betfair exchange despite the 1 year revenue share. It makes no logical sense not to promote Betfair on your sites; it shouldn’t been seen as competition to traditional bookies it should compliment them. Why have a Bet365 account and a Ladbrokes account when they offer the same product. However it makes sense for a customer to open a Bet365 account and a Betfair account as they offer different things. As an affiliate you can then earn commission from two companies rather than just one!
If you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact me at: sportsaffiliates@betfair.com
Thanks,
James
James why would you selectively take away affilites income on a low risk service like the betting exchange and not the casino?
Is it because it's your most profitable area and a decision of pure greed?
It's very misleading when I come to your site (and know it as a betting exchange) and see :
Betfair.com Affiliate ProgramOur revenue share plan is simple and offers you the chance to earn commission on all of the Betfair products that are used by your referred players.
There is NO mention of limiting this to one year on your page, so effectively you are doing a bait and switch and I'd in fact say this is PREDATORY terms.
Having fine print that effectively steals players we send to the MAIN purpose of your site is not a partnership.
Affiliates should also take note of this lovely term:
So "lifetime earnings" once again just a sneaky BS line by another shady company.d)13.2 Betfair may terminate this Agreement immediately in the event that the Affiliate
(d) does not introduce any new Customer to Betfair for a period of four (4) months.
So we have a company that:
14.3 If Betfair terminates this Agreement under clause 13.2 the Affiliate will not be entitled to receive any further payments pursuant to clause 4 following such termination.
a. removes players from betting exchange after one year (websites main focus) and:
b. has a producer clause that allows them to terminate your casino/poker players that we supposedly get for "life" if I don't keep sending customers.
Not a partnership James - I'm calling you out not in the hopes of slamming your brand, but instead trying to get you to come to our table with a fair partnership - after all the players we send you aren't a "cost" they are extra revenue.
What could you possibly have to lose by continuing to pay us for ALL of our signups.???

+1 MJ. I also have to add, that sports betting tips websites are built around their customers - and most likely we'll be making money from regular and loyal customers who use our tips. What's the point in taking the time and effort to build this relationship if I lose that player after a year?
