Default Party Poker sponsoring the 76ers & Devils..... Never thought I would see the day!

Pinch me, I feel like I'm in Europe!

While it's commonplace for you guys across the pond to see online gambling companies sponsoring every major sports team, this is a pretty big deal in the U.S. as it is the first time it's ever happened.

Hopefully as we see more markets open up, we'll see more deals like this. One of the largest overall benefits I think that will come out of this is that finally it will bring some legitimacy to regulated online gambling. People from all across the country watch the 76ers and the Devils on television each week. All of these viewers will see the Party Poker sponsorship, etc.

The deal is rumored to be worth $10M+. So obviously Party's thinking has to be short term loss for long term gain in the U.S. market. These guys have always been geniuses when it comes to long term planning though. I cannot wait to start promoting them again in the U.S.

    What do you guys think?

The flood gates have indeed opened, great news in terms of legitimizing the industry here as you say.

It is pretty incredible that it's even reached this level. If some more populous states get in on it this could become interesting quickly. Heck, it already is. It's still a bit intimidating to me on an affiliate level, largely because I haven't done a whole lot of research into it yet. This is just another golden opportunity to beat everyone else to the punch.

If you haven't already started, you are way late to the punch. I am too. Gonna have to fight our way in, today seems like a good day to get started!

True, actually. I think I have been and still am a bit more cynical than most of how anything is going to work with the US/state government running the show, especially for affiliates. It's made me delay on even bothering with it. I'll still give it a try at least.
