    Default WordPress Hosting

I am looking to move my sites from Bluehost. I use wordpress for all of my sites and have been looking at Synthesis, WPEngine and Liquid Web. I am also open for other suggestions. Basically I'm looking for something fully managed and don't want to have to mess with anything. I have seen a couple recommendations for Liquid Web here before. I also wouldn't mind spreading my sites out over more then one hosting provider. Thanks for your help.

Just out of curiosity, why are you looking for a fully-managed Wordpress hosting provider? Security issues? The hassle of updating many sites?

I actually just switched to BlueHost and many of my sites are WordPress as well. Just FYI I have used GoDaddy, Web.com and HostGator and I personally think BlueHost does a better job - for me anyway. Not sure why you are looking to change, but I will say the speed BlueHost offers for WordPress sites is better than other providers I have used.

WPengine was really fast when I used them for a brief time. Heads up tho, they are picky about which plugins you can use and do not allow many.

Thanks guys. I basically want fast worry free hosting and am not overly concerned with price.

Spry, why did you only use WPengine for a brief time?

I moved some sites there in the midst of being under my first DDOS attack, ever. Lets just say I didn't handle it the best (I didn't know better).

I bought a relatively inexpensive solution (cloudflare's upgraded package) and changed webservers to wpengine and relaunched the sites after the DDOS attack totally shut down my 1st webserver.

Well, I didn't know that if the DDOS attack is too big it will overwhelm cloudflare and they just pass the traffic on to the webserver instead of filtering out the garbage. Well, the DDOS attack totally overwhelmed cloudflare (learned if it is too big they can't mitigate it, and this ddos attack was way to big).

Anyway, the DDOS attack eventually jacked up my new server at wpengine, and we were brand new. After much discussion they decided they didn't want our business due to the fact that we caused them to have one of their servers hosed via the DDOS.

Eventually we fixed the DDOS issue (wasn't cheap, $x,xxx to set up and high $xxx / mo to maintain).

I am probably going to revisit them to host there again. It was sweet while it lasted and was pissed I potentially burnt them as a host for me.

Im using Digital Ocean and im very happy with it. There are guides to setup anything you would want including Wordpress, very easy. And it's fast.

I ended up choosing WP Engine and will update this thread in a couple of months in my experience.

'For nothing in the world', and all you mention is terrible support. Giving a bit more backstory would have been nice. Are you also talking about digital ocean by the way? I'm looking for a host myself to place 50+ websites, tired of mediatemple.
