Hey All,
Synopsis of sale: Pokerfornia.com has the unique potential to become an authority/brand at a strategic time when online poker is approaching legalization in CA. The site's popularity is increasing and people are searching for the brand. The site dominates the biggest CA terms in the Google SERPS (#1 for "california poker" for example). This was my first ever poker site.
Highlights of the site:
- Arguably one of Eyenod's best designs (cost ~ 1.5K dollars)
- Clean Code: I remember paying Pokerprop 500 dollars so he would scrub the css code when I was just starting out. The theme has changed since then, but is still very clean. This is not factored in pricing.
- VB Forum coded by Tommy from PAL. Although the forum is dormant, it is ready to go. You can see it here.
- Very high quality and authoritative CA poker room reviews (purchased for ~ 1000 dollars). You can see some highlights here: Commerce Poker Room, Bay 101 poker room. All of the biggest casinos are represented.
- Best SEO'd CA Poker Site. The site is listed in the root of BOTW for poker, and has strong backlinks. Ranks #1 in Google for "California poker", number #1 for "CA Poker", #1 for "california poker rooms" and "california poker casinos". Site is PR3 and never sold links, although it has 1 or 2 exchanges with friends (like thePokerBank). The site is referenced numerous times in Wikipedia, using the brand name to link back. It was never submitted to DMOZ.
- Site receives close to 4K unique visitors a month. I can provide Analytics upon request.
- Site never promoted online poker.
- Structured to sell advertising to land based casinos which are buying 5 figure ad spots on similar websites (I can provide more info to PMS).
- The site ranks phenomenally well for its internal posts. For example "commerce poker" in Google brings back pokerfornia.com in top 3, same with "Morongo poker" and other casinos. I am yet to achieve similar rankings with sites that have 5x the number of links actually. It could be because the Wikipedia links get mirrored by Wiki clone sites... but the site is ranking
I think the price tag is reasonable, given that a similar site tailored to Arizona sold for around the min offer price. CA is a mecca for land based poker, and online poker may flourish there very soon as well.
Why am I selling: No Bandwidth to work on this site. I need someone who can purchase regular news articles, keep the content up to date, maybe launch the forum, and take the site to the next echelon where it deserves to be.Or... just turn it into an affiliate poker portal. lol.
