Adding Comments Feature to Custom Wordpres Theme

I had a coder make my theme from an existing design. At the time I was using disqus to handle comments. I want to change back to the default wordpress commenting system, but the theme does not support this. I think I just need to add a comments.php file and call it in another file, but I'm not quite sure.

Any wordpress experts care to lend a hand? It would be much appreciated.

yes, you need a comments.php file, if the theme does not have one. After you've created one and uploaded it, you call it by using something like

<?php comments_template('',true); ?>

You can copy / paste the source code for a comments.php file from an existing default wordpress theme and style it accordingly.
