The Golden Ratio

A question for the regular web designers...

Do/Have you worked with the Golden Ratio when designing websites?

By dividing the site width by 1.62 to give your the perfect content width seems to make the side navigation larger than most sidebars you see. Do you think that this would work well for poker sites? Have your designs looked noticeably better when working with this ratio?
