Firebug Wont Work - totally lost

I did a FF update and since then Firebug won't load and I just want to cry. Didn't realize how much I use it (and how much time it saves me) till I can't use it anymore.

I can download and install but it won't show up anywhere for me to use.

Does anyone have something similar they use that's pretty well near identical to what Firebug does.

err .. what is it that "Firebug" does then ?

It lets me view the source and make changes live on a site in FF (temp of course). I find it very handy because I can see if something looks good quickly then do the same on the real page. I also find it easy to spot coding mistakes that would take me longer in DW.

Something else it helped with was malware injections. Firebug would show the malware script whereas the source code wouldn't show it.

Its the best tool ever made imo : ) great if you like the design part of sites and how its done. I would uninstall ff + plugins keep your bookmarks and redo.. mine works fine done the last few updates. Have malwarebytes.org - to keep your computer clean like at least 1 time a week. Or do a restore to when it worked but get malwarebytes.
