How to order blogroll links

Does anyone know how to order links in the blogroll, without the use of a plugin, so that they're not in default alphabetical order??

One way to do it is to hardcode the blogroll links instead of adding them in wp admin, so in other words you want to create a text widget and add them like that.

I tried just adding the links as html in a text widget but it doesn't display correctly. Think its because of the template.

Thanks Mike, that looks like what I'm looking for but I'm not the best with editing the code. Which file do I edit? I'm looking to list the links by rank so I can easily choose what order they go in.

I quick and dirty fix would be to number them.

Editing the code can be a challenge if it is a widget
you are using to display the links.

The code you will edit might be in sidebar.php.

With the latest wordpress you can make a new menu and order it the way you want then go to widgets and select the custom menu and put it in the sidebar.
