Having Problems with Changing Slugs

I have some sort of weird thing going on, it's making me crazy. If I change a post slug from website.com/1-2-3 to website.com/1-2, the url is not changing and it's going to an error page. What's weirder is that when you put your arrow over the link, the correct url shows. WTF?

I've updated all my plugins, and WP as well. I don't know what else to do.

Any ideas?

I have these same plugins on other sites without these problems (although I realize that doesn't necessarily mean anything).

Okay, maybe I am stating the obvious here. But just in case not or maybe someone with less experience reads this later and needs to source.

Check your htaccess file first, not just visually. Perhaps grab a fresh version from other site that contains the same basics you are using.

If there is no error there. Disable all plug ins and see the problem still exists. If it doesn't start installing one by one.

Also make sure its ALL plug ins. In a wordpress 2.2 version the sitemap plug in conficted with some core features I used and was not useable. This would of been my last guess at time sourcing the problem.

If you've already done this and still having problems let me know. Also one unlikely thing: if its your htaccess causing the problem and your also using cheap hosting, sometimes the problem won't fix right away.

For example: At godaddy htaccess changes are not picked up right away. I don't recommend anyone ever hosts wordpress with them because connections to databases and process are so much slower than at other sites.. but the other issue is that htaccess is scanned every couple hours and then acts similar to cache or some shit. its pretty screwed up. So this is unlikely, but at some hosts if your change htaccess you need to just sit and wait for them to actually make the change.

Anyways let me know if still having problems.

No, I'm actually going through GoDaddy

I've literally never had a problem with GoDaddy or with doing exactly what I've done on this site. This is a totally unique problem I'm having. I'm gonna try all of Jim's ideas and see what happens.

Okay, so I found out that it's the Redirection Plugin causing the problems. I downloaded the latest version, uploaded, same problem. Damn, that's a cool plugin that I like using. Any ideas from here?

Glad to see you sourced it.
My guess for next steps would be to contact the maker of the plug in. If no success there, to make some posts in wordpress forums asking for alternatives, if no luck either give up on whatever feature that plug in provides you or hire someone to create it for you.
