    Default Wordpress vs Joomla

Not sure if anything similar was posted in the past, if so, please reply with the link.

Which CMS do you use/recommened for affiliation?

At the moment, I use joomla on Godaddy, but my site is running sooooo slow!
I have hostings on hostgator and hostpapa so I will probably try joomla over there as well, but I am wandering about wordpress as I only used it to create a blog for my girlfriend...

In terms of affiliates plugin/modules/extensions which one do you think is besTt

Wordpress is starting to grow on me especially after working with my raccoon prince.

For speed, simplicity of backend and config, ease of tweaks - definitely WP. For big portals, exclusive functions, sites with forums, community, member registration, loyalty programs - definitely J! While both are a CMS now, I believe they are still should be used for different scopes of websites.

About the "slow" issue - WP runs smoothly and fast 99% of time and without major tweeks. To have a quick Joomla site, you have to have some deeper knowledge about it, but it is absolutely possible. Hosting settings is only one part of that puzzle.

I have been working for a while with both, and after some time just hearing/thinking of main functions and ideas for a website automatically lights one of the choices in my head. So I guess you just have to digg a bit before deciding which is your option this time.

I see. I started off with a big project on J! but I also want to create several not so big sites, so I might use WP for those.
    Cheers!

Any nice poker/gambling/non-gambling affiliate site themes around? I looked around in the forum, and most seems oldish

I have tried first Joomla and than moved to WordPress and clearly can say that in terms of easiness of use, WP is the ultime CMS. And the plug-in richness is also far more better than Joomla.

I much prefer WP over Joomla. I've used them both for different kinds of projects but WP is just so easy and good to use.

I still use J! for my main/biggest project but I must confess WP is easier to manipulate.
J! is also slower, hopefully the new 1.7 will make an improvement but haven't tried it yet... waiting for 1.7.1

Wordpress is so well supported, I've never really had a reason to use anything else. Just today actually I was required to use Joomla for a client, and my first impressions are its not as easy to use, but that could just be because I am not very familiar with it.

Did you notice any slowness with joomla?
    Which version did you try?
I am still waiting for 1.7.1 before switching from 1.6.4 but my site runs horribly slow...

Yeah ! I also feel slowness in Joomla. Thats why I prefer Wordpress as best CMS. As far concerned with it's latest version, I am also waiting for it.
