    Default ScreenFlow Question

    For anyone who uses ScreenFlow...

Is there anyway to just open up a video file and edit it?

Or do you have to start a screen capture recording, stop it, and then import media every time? Am I missing something simple?

I only have the German version so the official terms might differ from my "personal" translation. Anyway the navigation of the right container contains a button for media selection. These media can be inserted into the movie using a separate track.
Next step is to divide the track of the movie at current position and move the pieces wherever you want them to be placed at.

Yeah I understand how to add the media and edit it once I open the program, but for me the only way to get the program open is to do a screen recording first. When I go to my applications and click on ScreenFlow it only brings up a little box that asks what part of the screen I want to record. Anyway to skip that, and just open the editing software?

just close the small window and use the top navigation where you can open existing files.

I'm not sure if it just came out, but downloaded the newer version 3.0 and they fixed the problem. You can now choose "New Empty Document".

So far the new update looks promising.
