Default Turning a PHP Function into a WP Plugin

I have a written a simple PHP function that takes the input from a form and converts it into another string.

Can someone let me know how I can turn this into a simple WP function that will allow me to do this conversion in Wordpress? Either a quick paragraph or a decent link would be brilliant.

    Thanks a lot

Would be better if we could see the function and know exactly what you want to do with it.
I visited my doctor last week, and he told me I had to stop masturbating. I asked him why, surely it’s not dangerous. He said it was distracting him.

As Tommy said, impossible to know exactly what you are trying to do. Do you want to turn it into a shorttag so you can display it within a post?

I would suggest perhaps you don't need a plug-in, and you could just put the PHP in the template files.

Here is a link to the WP codex: Writing a Plugin « WordPress Codex
Lots of links at the bottom of that page.

usually you jjust add the function to the function.php file and "hook" it up to a wp hook
