    Default What's Your WP Setup?

I'm needing to refresh myself on WP a little bit, as I'm using it more and I haven't been for the last year or so.

What are your "must have" plugins when first setting up a new site/fresh install?

No Category Parents (strips out /category/ from the URL's)
    WP-Page-Navi (neater navigation)
SEO Smart Links (awesome auto-linker, lots of options)
    Custom Field Template
Simply Exclude (don't always need this, but very useful)
    WP Touch (mobile/iPhone theme)
Term Management Tools (merge tags/categories - useful down the line)
    Some kind of Breadcrumb plugin
Some kind of XML sitemap plugin
    Some kind of Cache plugin
    Some kind of SEO plugin

The other thing I always do is move jquery to be hosted by Google. And I like to rename "tag" to be something else. I've used things like "topic".
You'll find me on LinkedIn, Twitter and Google+.

    Akismet
Frank's GEO Plugin (this thing is cool, I can see it being a such a powerful tool, I haven't even started using it properly, but basically you can make your site seem like its made for a visitor from x country.)

I use All in One and Popup Domination. I've also been reading on Wordpress security and will be adding the Limit Login plugin to my sites as well. I tried XML Sitemaps the other day and ran into issues with it - said f**k it and just uploaded one manually.

Everything else is touch and go (depends on what I'm working on). Most of the themes I use (thesis, genesis/studiopress) have built in breadcrumbs and I think the newest version of WP has custom menus, so no need for plugins for those things. Everything else (pages, posts and categories (include/exclude) I do manually).

Are you using the page exclude to remove pages from your navigation bar? I think that's what I used it for.

If you want to know how to setup your site without having to use that plugin, hit me up on Skype. (I only suggest it because I try to use as few plugins as possible).

    -XML sitemaps
    -all in one seo
-custom plugin for managing affiliate links / bonus amounts / room info / redirects
    -contact form 7 (if necessary)

i really try to keep the plugins very minimal to limit overhead / exposure. so many plugins do what you could do yourself with just a line or two of code.

I try to avoid any plugins and most good themes have built-in SEO options.

I really only use a contact form plugin and the xml sitemaps plugin.
