    Default Jackpot Tracking Graphs

    Hi there,

I've come across a few affiliate sites recently that have a graph which generally tracks slot jackpots. So you can see the level of a particular jackpot over the last 30 days or so and when it last paid out.

I'm just curious as to whether this is something that affiliate networks are now offering (as the majority of them appear to look the same) or whether it's something that would need to be hand coded.

    Cheers,

Like Jackpot Graphs is def custom coded - its run by Engineer and an awesome site.

I do seem to recall some aff back ends supply XML feeds for some jackpots, even as simple as with a banner, so I think it really comes down to how far you want to go with it, or what you specifically aim to list.

Yeah, I totally agree about JackpotGraphs MJ - it's a great site. It seems to be the exception to the rule though and from what I understand Dave is an expert coder, so I'm guessing it must be hand coded.

I guess what I was thinking about were the smaller affiliate sites that don't drill into the data quite so much but are still able to stick up a line graph tracking jackpot levels at the top of their review. It sometimes seems to be a little out of place when put up against the general 'tech level' of the rest of the site, so it has got me wondering whether it's something affiliate networks have started to provide ...

Over a year ago or more I created a similar jackpot graph site and have since sold it. Not sure what happened to it as the as it is not active or under a different name.

Basically it comes down to a bunch of programming and as well as some sort of graph software.

First you need to get all the feeds for the jackpots. You then need to extract all the data from the feeds and store it in a database.

Next you need to display the data. I think I used FusionCharts - JavaScript (HTML5) & Flash Charts from industry's leading data visualization solution for my jackpot site. You use php to output the data from the database to the chart.

You need to come up with an algorithm for how often you want to grab the feed and put it in the database. So you could store if for 6 days and grab the data every 10 minutes. This data would be then plotted on the graph.

It can get complicated with all the different jackpots, networks, and determining if a jackpot has been hit.

I never ran across any sites that provided these graphs.
