Default Recommended theme builder over Thesis?

Man oh man, I've been using Thesis for a week and it is driving me mental! The sell on their homepage made it look like it had all the plugins you need, where in reality a lot of the features that I want to add to my website requires me to learn coding! Maybe I should have done my research better.... oh well!

So, can anyone recommend any simple to use theme builder that can build slick looking sites without all the coding? I don't mind paying for it as long as it has a reasonable price tag!

    Thank you in advance

Install the thesis openhook plugin so you don't have to play around with code.

Must admit I gave up on Thesis myself. I have all my sites on Joomla now which I personally prefer to WP.

not alone, I've been using wordpress since 2006 and don't understand themes at all. I made the mistake of purchasing themes on two occasions and was so confused I just deleted it and redid what I needed following online tutorials to code theme-free into wordpress from a bank notepad file. not sure if that's a good or bad thing - but are not alone in not understanding themes.

Thank you guys. I absolutely hate coding with passion so I will need to really force myself to learn if I were to go down with the Thesis/coding route.

However I've been doing my research on potential themes (mostly on ThemeForest - shortlisted a few, Flytonic and various other theme builder sites) and was wondering what people's thoughts were on the below.

    - As recommended by Dan from affiliate bible, any of the themes from: Flytonic (flytonic . com).

    - A very magazine/news like theme from ThemeForest (demos.brianmcculloh. com / continuum/). However it seems highly customisable, so I can delete a lot of the extras on this theme and still have a simple layout.

    - A theme used mostly for video gaming news. Doesn't seem too clustered and again I can delete a lot of the extras to make it more simple for poker affiliate sites. (ghostpool . com/ wordpress/ reviewit/)

    Any thoughts guys?

    Thank you

I dont like the thesis myself, they have some nice themes but when I start a site I always find myself going back to flytonics dealer theme, it is highly customizable. I learned pretty much everything about it because I couldn't afford someone like Eduardo to make me one. I imagine Tom would sell you one on the cheap because he has all the new ones released.

Speaking of the new ones, they are pretty good, if he does all the suggested updates like different page sizes and things it will enable you to build very unique looking sites. So yeah if you can afford it I would go and but one of the flytonic ones, learn it and you will find its all you ever need.

I don't have either time or the inclination to become expert in any themes or plugins. I use free themes and free plugins and if they don't do what I expect I uninstall them and try something else.
