Default Posts showing oldest first, can't figure out how to get newest first

I'm going crazy trying to figure this out. I had someone do a wp template for me and all of the posts are showing in reverse order from what I would normally expect, Poker Strategy, Online Poker Strategy | Flushdraw for example. So the posts with the oldest dates are staying at the top and new posts are going to the bottom. It's doing this everywhere including the homepage and I can't figure it out. Anyone know how this can be fixed or can take a look at some of the code or something please?

Have a look and see if the query that's pulling the posts in has an "order" parameter. If it does, just remove it. The default ordering is newest first, so I'm guessing for whatever reason this theme has the order parameter to reverse it.

I checked on the loop and some other places and I can't find an order parameter. I even tried adding it myself with order=DESC but that didn't even work. Do you know of a place in the theme that there's like a universal order param or something?

He could have added it to the functions file (in custom themes this is something called themename-functions.php or something such) within the theme (it should be visible in the theme editor).

Another thing to check is if he made an "options" page for the theme? A lot of "premium" themes from woothemes, themeforest etc have options pages.

Thanks Peter, I ended up having someone look at it and it was related to the postMash plugin. It was overriding everything else even though it was only used for one section of the website. Anyway thanks a lot for taking the time.
