    Default Menu by Page Plugin

    Does anyone know of a plugin that can show different menus on different pages. After toying around with WPML there are lots of small issues some of which require URL rewrites and the likes that I don't want to do.

    I think the easiest way to set it up would be to have a customized sidebar and topmenu for all pages in other languages. For example all pages that are site.com/es would be shown a Spanish top menu and Spanish sidebar. Is there any plugin that can do this?

    I used this for the custom sidebars; WordPress › Custom sidebars « WordPress Plugins

    And for top menus I'm not really sure what you're talking about but you should just use the wordpress custom menus and structure your menus with your own pages manually for each language - hassle free solution but not sure if it works with WPML since I haven't used that..

    This is another one for sidebars, I have not seen one that does that with the main menu.

    Ended up getting my coder to build this for me as couldn't find a good solution for the top menu anywhere.

    I think I thought of an alternate solution: move the navbar code from the header file into each of the templates: single.php, page.php etc.

    Then use a shortcode/php to include the navbar file from a separate page that you could then change in your file editor. This would prevent you from having to change each of the template pages every time you wanted to change your navbar.

    Then whenever you wanted another page with a custom navbar you would just create a new page template with a different navbar file. This would also work on posts via the custom post template plugin and for category pages via the custom category template plugin.

    ...or create a template for each language and save it as tpl_spanish.php

    Make sure to add this to the top

    PHP Code:
    <?php
    /*
    Template Name: Spanish
    */
    ?>
    then you just need to choose the proper template from the drop down menu with each post / page....no plugin to break....or you could probably create a custom function - and use if else statements with the sidebars. but the above would be the easiest.

    *I know you found a solution but posting for others who might want to add custom sidebars.*

    He wanted a custom navbar per page not custom sidebar if I read his request correct originally. But yeah thats the code you need to add to make custom page templates. For posts/category templates i think you need the extra plugins.
