Uploading new wordpress theme

I downloaded a new theme and now I need to upload it to my site but I cant figure it out, how bad is it when you cant get step 1 done.

Anyway can you upload it somewhere when you've logged in your wordpress site or do you have to uplaod it from your cpanel.

And if its your cpanel is there a way to upload the whole theme folder I can only seem to upload each single file in the file manager and that seems like a lot of needless work.

hey you just upload the theme folder to you wpthemes folder with whatever program you use to upload stuff!
If that makes sence
And then you activate the theme, in the themes option in your wp backend.

FTP programs will allow you to upload files to your site.

There are several free ones you can download.

i use filezilla. thats a free program

FireFTP - The Free FTP Client for Mozilla Firefox is really good. You can just upload stuff from your browser.

Me and filezilla never really got on, so I used Free FTP client, secure file transfer software before I used FireFTP. Filezilla is probably better though.
