WP/Meta Tag Question

While looking at the "view source" on a few of my pages, I noticed that at the end of my key words there was "uncategorized" added to the end. It is only on pages inside the site, not on my homepage. Any way to get rid of it?

Are you using a seo plugin like Allinone SEO? There is an option that includes categories as meta tags. Uncheck this option.

Yessir, Im using the All in one seo... the only thing i noticed that seemd relevant to what you mentioned was the "Use Categories for META keywords" and it is unchecked

Hmm. That should do it. That is the option I am speaking of.

One workaround might be to make a category called "poker" or some other generic keyword that you would use for a META tag on all pages and make that the default category. That way "poker" would always show up as one of your meta tags.

Not perfect, but not sure how to fix the problem if unselecting that option doesn't work.

i found for one blog based site i had to completely delete the uncategorized category. i set an generic term like Nick suggested, and I had no further problems. I hope that helps.

Although that gets me thinking that there is away around that...hmm...

Make sure the plugin does NOT insert "noindex" robots tags on your category pages. That is SO annoying (and stupid).

I realized that the stock category option of "uncategorized" was also a tag.... once I realized it was a tag I deleted it and now < poof > no more "uncategorized" in my key words... Thanks for everyones help!
