How important is is to update wordpress to the latest version?
Its seems like a big task upgrading 50 sites. But recently i cant upgrade my plugins, and i think its because the wp versions are old?
I guess its important to upgrade the plugins!

I typically try to upgrade all my sites on major releases but I usually miss the minor releases. One thing i did recently was convert a bunch of my sites into WP-MU which allows me to have several sites using one Wordpress MU install. It's a little quirky I'd say but it is so much better when it comes to upgrades, etc...

Some of my plug-ins are soiling themselves as well. I tried upgrading a bit ago and it was a pain. It wanted to install in a different directory, and seemed like a bit much for me at the moment. I'm holding off until I absolutely have to do it - though truth be told, I'm really holding out for my web host to have the auto upgrade built in, so that it will push it out automatically.

Interesting, ill ask hostgator if its something they will add.

ahhhh sweet sweet sweet, its already there. If you use hostgator, then just go to your admin, fantastico and click upgrade and your done. And that fixed my plugin problem. Exellent

Yea, fantastico is the nuts. If you ask your host for it most will install, at least any host with a cpanel.

It's very important to upgrade your Wordpress along with all the plugin.
Most of the updates are because of Bugs or Security issues.
One of my friend Wordpress blog got hacked few days back, after searching on Google we found it was because of .htaccess file and he was using an old version of Wordpress which had lots of security issues.

Along with it compatibility can be issue some times, so it's better if you upgrade your wordpress whenever a wordpress update is available.

It is very important to keep the latest update on wordpress. I have failed to do that many of times, and my site got hacked EVERY time lol.
