Default How do I remove the "Home" navigation tab

On a wordpress site where I use a static home page and a news page for a blog the "home" tab redirects to the static home page, but if I click the news page, both the "news" and the "home" tabs highlight.

Is there any way to remove the "home" tab.

    The site is thefulltiltreferralcode.com

You can see the problem by clicking on the home tab and then clicking on the news tab.

    Any held is appreciated.
    Thanks, Niko

On your wordpress dashboard's sidebar, click page links under tools... You "should" be able to find it there...

    Can't find it.
My tools drop down just has tools, import, export, upgrade and meta-data.

If you can't find how to remove it in the backend, then it looks like you are going to have to edit the functions.php file as the homepage link seems to be coded in there.

Not sure if this helps now, but you could have just changed the "home" to "The Full Tilt Referral Code" and you would not have had to add the new page.

Having said that, you can still do that by removing "The Full Tilt Referral Code" page and pasting the info from that page to your "home" page. Then just change the name on the tab. You can find that in the header section in your backend.

    Hope that helps

EDIT: Ok, my fault...I see what you are pointing out...I'd still try my idea and see if that is taken care of in the process. You don't need 2 "home" pages anyway.
Make every website mobile ready with a responsive theme.

    My favorite themes come from:StudioPress

Why StudioPress? They use the Genesis framework, which is built with SEO and mobile devices in mind. Their themes look great, need little customization and have tons of tutorials and documentation. Check them out!

Ok, I installed that theme on a site and set it up like I think you have yours set up, with a static page as a front page and another static page as a posts page.

Then I deleted the first four lines of code from the function art_menu_items at the very end of the functions.php file. That seems to work fine.

Manually go into the header.php file in your blog's theme... You have to remove it manually --- at least in my current theme I had to go in manually to modify it.

    Hope that helps

Changing header.php is probably your safest bet there.

I did it this way and it seems to have worked.
    Thanks everyone.
