Joomla email database help

Hope someone can help and think this is simple so fingers crossed

Basically I had the site London Poker Directory - About The London Poker Directory built for me a while ago and in that is a newsletter sign up - I want to start sending regular emails but the email system is very basic so would rather export the names into a seperate system - Anyone know how?

I think you need someone who knows his way around php for that, so you could have some freelancer write a little application for that. Or you could simply install a Joomla module like this one Ultimate Mailing Lists
and send your mass emails from there. It seems to be quite powerful and it's for free.
