Backing Up Your Websites

So as my websites get bigger and more numerous, and hard drive after hard drive on my PC crashes, I'm starting to get paranoid about backing up my sites. Right now, my backups are sporadic and I'm not even sure what all is included in the backup files.

What do you guys do to back up all your websites? I use backup wizard in cpanel and a plugin for WP but I don't really understand what I'm getting with those. Research on Google just makes it more confusing. Databases, tables, home directories, etc. It's even more confusing with WordPress thrown in there.

So what do you do? Do you have a simplified process? If you have everything automated and you feel completely secure, let's hear it.

I have a plugin that takes a backup of the Wordpress database every 3rd day and send it to a Gmail address that automatically forward it to one of my own email addresses, so I can see that the backups are getting done.

Once a month I make a copy of some folders with images and my goto folder to my harddrive, where I have JungleDisk set up to create an automatic backup (to Amazon S3) each day.

I backup my server each day which I have most my sites on. I have used the backup plugin for wordpress as well, but have yet to schedule ongoing backups.

With Wordpress, this plugin is excellent. I have mine setup to auto-email me a copy of the database backup once a week.

Then you just need to setup a process to back up the wp-content folder on a somewhat regular basis.

I was a little late to this post. My blog was hacked today and I never made a backup...fortunately my hosting company was doing it for me. I'll be sure to install the plug in once everything gets back up.

Is there anything to use in cpanel to let you set up a cron job to make a daily backup.
As it is now, i have to log into cpanel then make a complete backup thru them every day, sometimes forgetting,

wondering if theres a way to automate this

I really ought to back up my sites more, it's just not something that crosses my mind often enough. Couple of nice plugins mentioned here though, I might try some.
