Redirect Old Pages

I have built a site on an old domain that had a couple of pages on it before. When I go to google and do site:mydomain.com these pages don't show up but they show up as a crawl error in webmaster tools. Since these old pages don't exist anymore should I redirect them to the most relevant page?

What I would do is follows:

1) On the "old" site, do a 301 redirect on all these references to the new
references on the "new" site;

2) I would use GWT Remove URL feature, to remove the old file references;

3) I would update your "old" sitemap to make sure that these old pages are no longer in that sitemap. Re-submit this modified sitemap to Google;

4) I would update your "new" sitemap to make sure that the new pages are referenced properly on your new site. Re-submit this new modified sitemap to Google.

Although some of the above steps may seem redundant, it is always best to explicitly let Google know what you are doing (and multiple times are fine). Google is far from perfect, and it needs to be treated as a baby sometimes.

You will need to create a .htaccess file and then make 301 redirects and place them into the .htaccess file. Then store it on the server.
