Working on a Geo-Targeting Script/Plugin - Suggestions, Feedback etc

Oh, I think you are confusing Dan's OP with my comment on the plugin that I created. Either way, wordpress has a shortcode api built in that handles this for you.

If I had to do this by hand or implement it in a stand alone (non wp plugin) version, it would be regex (or just hard coded).

This is what I figured. I am trying to come up with something to allow for variables pulling from a database and figured that regex was the way to go, but I wanted to make sure that I am on the right track. thanks

Yikes - can't believe it was that long since I first created this thread.

Anyway I wanted to let you guys know that my programmer has completed the Geo-Targeting Plugin for Wordpress.

I've been testing it out for about 6 weeks on a couple of different sites and have encountered no problems at all.

We've got a "beta" manual which still needs to be polished up but is available here. You can look at that and have an idea of how it works - it's super easy to do.

just wanted to bump this and give this plugin a thumbs up. I've been playing around with it on for a few weeks now and it works slick. The getting started guide cleared up a few questions I had and now, once you get your CTA's lined up, this is a no-brainer to add to your WP posts and pages.

also, doubleD i'd recommend making a new post offering this for sale in the marketplace, I had to search the forums for 'geotarget' to find this post.

finally, one suggestion would be to make this work if used in the sidebar or a sidebar widget (however i know it's main job is to customize the in-content CTA's shown to visitors).

for $50 you can't go wrong if you are not geo-targeting your traffic already.

If I may help out here, you should be able to add the shortcode to the sidebar (via widgets) by adding the following code to your functions.php file
