I've always heard bad things about Google PPC... is that what you were thinking?

I've just heard it's nearly impossible to get approved, and once your account gets shutdown it is shutdown for good.

    Kev,

I don't believe I've ever seen you mention PPC. Do you ever do that at all? I can tell you're bit jaded by the non-gaming affiliate market - you may want to consider PPC instead - or at least putting the other sites on the backburner while you recharge on them.

It's not easy - but it can be a hell of a lot more fun, more instantaneous results etc and you're basically getting instant feedback on how good/bad a job you're doing. It's something I've been doing for years, and I would recommend checking it out.

I haven't written anything about it as it really is one of those areas where you want to keep a lot of cards to yourself - but you should check out some of the blog posts at TylerCruz.com he's written some great ones lately about his campaigns and you'll get an idea of his enthusiasm/drive and how fun it can be.

Good post, I can totally relate. I sold most of my large poker sites and account in Dec and Jan - Since then I've been investing a lot in non-gaming markets, with some decent results, but like you said it's tough to get use to smaller earnings per sale/conversion.

But I've found I'm much happier dealing with companies outside of gaming, mainly because so many of the rooms hire scum bags to run their programs. So now at least I'm dealing with normal people who usually have some real experience with business.

As for NYC, I've never been, but that sounds like a perfect spot for a vacation

Congrats to Imteaz who got 2 sales over the weekend... I'm considering running an affiliate contest for anyone who is interested just post here, PM me or skype me. It would just be like top 3 affiliates go into a draw and winner gets a $100 cash bonus on top of the 70% commission or something like that.

I send both a full html email and a plain text email. Targeting mobile phones is another complex area that I'm working on. To create a decent full html template you could simply mod a purchased template from Theme Forest email template - files - ThemeForest or get a template custom coded.

Thanks again... How did you go abouts creating a template for email broadcasts?

I want to make sure people can read it on their cell phones without a problem.

My list generates sign ups from casino and bingo players. I will say though that I have generated sign ups direct to sport books (not cross overs) from my list. Your site is one of the few sites I follow and have done for some time. I’m also a subscriber to your list. Looking back through your broadcasts most seem to be predictions with sometimes a bookmaker offer added, although most times not. I’m not knocking you for this as it is clear you do a dam good job with your predictions and that seems the main focus of your site.

All I will say is that I have found that a branded email works much better that a plain text broadcast. You have a very strong brand which you should use.

In regards to Clickbank I think that is a very smart move. Another option which could prove to be very profitable would be a Kindle ebook on US sports betting as there is a great demand for Kindle media. Just a couple of months ago I got involved with a Kindle Ebook and was amazed by the number of sales. Kevin take a look at the sport picks Ebooks available for the Amazon Kindle and you will soon see you could do much better and make a small fortune. As I have already said, there is a huge demand for Kindle media of which many affiliates have not even thought about yet.

Good luck Kevin although I’m sure you will succeed!

Cool, thanks for sharing your results. Just wondering if this is sports betting at all? I've found that most bettors (since a high majority of my traffic is US) prefer to stick to one sportsbook, maybe two. Even if you explain to them about line shopping, bonuses, etc, they are happy to stick with just one betting site they are comfortable with and trust. Even more so now with all the stuff going on in the states.

Don't get me wrong I still do promote sportsbooks through my mailing list and sites... I just find that most people looking for predictions and picks already are signed up for one and aren't interested in hearing about it much.

Kevin I understand what you are saying but I will say to you that you should not give up on generating RMPs to sportbooks from your list. I have been playing around with lists for around 2 years, although if I’m honest it has only been since last November that my efforts have started to produce decent earnings. I now would prefer that those visiting my site, sign up to my list rather than sign up through one of my site’s affiliate links. I have many subscribers that have signed up to multiple programs which is proving to be extremely profitable.

Online, in my opinion, there is a lot of crap posted about list building. I have found that producing a “branded” type email, together of course with a text version, works very well. Also it is well worth the effort of contacting affiliate managers and getting them to create a professional email for you which of course includes a special promo for your subscribers only.

Also I have found that less is more in regards to sending broadcasts. I have found that by sending just 2 emails per month to subscribers, works best for the niche I’m targeting, rather than bombard them with emails every few days.

In regards to the time of broadcasts I have found that by far the best time to broadcast is around 5pm to 6pm Friday evening. Friday nights seem to generate the best open rates by far plus generate a decent RMP sign up rate. My aim is simply to get my email at the top of the users inbox when they have finished work for the week.

This is very cool. I have a sports betting section on one of my sites that I neglect hardcore because i'm terrible with sports content. When I finish a few other things I'll have to sign up and promote your picks. I'll just take the easy way out and send people to you. Good stuff.

The goal is to grab their name and email to give them the free picks so that way if they don't purchase right away they will get my small plays via email. I can then sell them on the bigger plays as I release them. This way the visitors don't visit the site and then completely forget about it. The affiliate link puts a 60 day cookie on their computer, so affiliates get sales for up to 60 days.

Just signed up to promote your program . Great looking site too. I am curious though; why do you put such an emphasis on free betting picks on your sales page? Shouldn't the one goal be a sale?

When I landed on your sales page I wondered if I was on the right site because of the free picks signup box at the top and the popup talking about free picks.

Nice, I have that on our pool, but not sure about +1 even though Titans should win... Only one I got right now is Giants -3... I think that line will go up closer to game time...

@ Tom - Yeah I bet my own picks which has been nice.

@ Scott - Thanks I'm really loving the new design with the CTA above the fold too. The only bet I've locked in for Week 1 is TITANS +3.5 (-125)... With the Jags QB situation the line is at +1 most places though.
